Privacy

Privacy in plain English

Your private conversations belong on your computer. Here is when Murmur Sphere stays local and when you choose to use the internet.

On your computer

Your app data stays local

Conversations, characters, Personas, prompts, AI replies, recovery information, and saved app activity stay in the app and local AI services. Current saved profiles are local plaintext with integrity checks; protect your Windows account and device. Historical encrypted recovery data stays local when present. Murmur Sphere does not silently fall back to an online AI.

A small online check

The app checks for updates

At startup, the app may check a small official release record. It does not silently download, install, or run an update.

When you visit

The website uses basic analytics

Cloudflare helps deliver this website and provides basic, privacy-focused visit and performance analytics. There are no ads or cross-site trackers.

After you click the website download, a first-party browser ID helps keep repeat downloads from inflating the public estimate. It is not connected to an account, your app activity, or advertising.

You are in control

You choose when to go online

Visiting this site, downloading the app or a model, sending an email, or choosing creator support happens only through a clear action you take.

Full technical details

Website and network details

Cloudflare delivers this site and provides Cloudflare Web Analytics. It measures visits, page views, requested paths, referrer information, country, device category, browser, operating system, navigation type, and page-performance information such as Core Web Vitals. Cloudflare also receives internet address (IP address) and connection information while handling requests. The analytics system creates no advertising profile, supporter profile, or cross-site tracking system. The production page-load audit found only the approved beacon and Cloudflare report endpoint, with no other outside request, cookie, or browser storage.

Download total

After a deliberate website download click, the site saves one random ID in that browser. The server receives only its one-way hash and stores a separate secret-protected code so the same browser does not add again. If browser storage is unavailable, the counter makes a secret-protected fallback from ordinary connection details. Raw IP addresses, browser headers, and raw IDs are not stored. A short-lived one-time token keeps direct scanner requests from adding. This best-effort estimate never blocks delivery and cannot prove that a transfer completed or an installation happened. Duplicate filtering began September 26, 2026; the earlier total was retained.

Contact and bug reports

App Contact opens only the fixed first-party contact page, with no draft or diagnostics. Bug Report prepares a local preview; optional technical details are off by default. Copying does not email it. The site shows support@murmursphere.com as plain text. You choose your own email service and when to send. Your email provider and Google Workspace process normal email information. Messages may remain in the Workspace inbox and its backups until they are manually deleted under the account's normal retention settings.

Creator support

Choosing Show payment details on Support creates a live Checkout Session and loads Stripe's secure contact and card fields inside the page. Simply visiting Support does not contact Stripe. Murmur Sphere does not receive full card details or add payment information to activity statistics.

AI output and your responsibility

Murmur Sphere is a tool for using AI models you choose and run on your computer. Murmur Sphere does not review, approve, or host your prompts, conversations, characters, or model output. AI output can be inaccurate, offensive, unlawful, or unsafe. You are responsible for choosing a model, reviewing its output, using the app and its output lawfully, respecting other people's rights, and deciding whether to rely on, share, or act on generated content.

Users are responsible for their prompts, characters, conversations, model outputs, screenshots, exports, and anything they choose to share. Murmur Sphere does not review or endorse user-created or model-generated content. You may not use Murmur Sphere to create, obtain, possess, or distribute unlawful content, including child sexual abuse material, or to threaten, exploit, or harm others.

AI output is provided as is, without warranties about accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose, and is not medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Murmur Sphere and its creator disclaim responsibility for content generated through the app and for decisions or actions based on that content. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Do not send suspected unlawful content, screenshots, or samples to the support address. Report suspected child exploitation directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline or law enforcement.
