Privacy & transparency

Your chats stay on your computer.

The desktop app has no usage analytics. This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for basic visits and performance, and a separate counter estimates how many browsers or devices have started a website download.

This is an estimate, not a verified count of people or installations. Duplicate filtering began September 26, 2026. The existing total was kept, so earlier repeat requests remain included.

The simple version

Three clear boundaries

Desktop app

No usage analytics. Conversations, prompts, replies, characters, Personas, installed models, recovery information, and local activity stay on your computer.

Opening a character, sending a message, changing a model, or using another feature does not create an analytics event for Murmur Sphere.

Website

Cloudflare measures basic visits, requested pages, referrers, broad device and location details, and page performance. Murmur Sphere adds no ad or cross-site trackers.

This helps show whether pages are being visited and loading well. It does not reveal what happens inside the desktop app.

Download estimate

When you deliberately start a website download, the counter tries to recognize whether that browser or device has already been counted.

It is closer to unique people than a click total, but it is not exact: browsers can be shared, storage can be cleared, and connection details can change.

Plain details

Exactly what is and is not measured

The desktop app, website analytics, and download counter are separate systems with different boundaries.

Website

Visits and performance

Cloudflare Web Analytics

This is the website’s only ongoing analytics system. The measured fields describe the page request and how it loaded, not a named or lasting Murmur Sphere profile.

Measured

  • Visits and page views
  • Requested host and page path
  • Referrer information
  • Country and device category
  • Browser and operating system
  • Navigation type
  • Page-load performance and Core Web Vitals
  • Connection information Cloudflare receives, including IP address

Not measured

  • Chats or other private app content
  • A Murmur Sphere visitor ID
  • An advertising or supporter profile
  • Cross-site behavior
  • Analytics cookies or browser-storage IDs created by Murmur Sphere

Download estimate

Duplicate-filtered website downloads

Murmur Sphere counter

The counter changes only after a deliberate website download uses a fresh, short-lived token. Page views, direct scanner requests, repeat clicks from the same browser, app-update downloads, file checks, ranges, and resumes do not add to it.

What it uses

  • A random first-party ID saved in that browser after the first download click
  • A one-way, secret-protected code stored by the counter to recognize a repeat
  • If browser storage is unavailable, a one-way fallback made from ordinary connection details
  • Public release version, release channel, total, and record-change time

What it does not keep

  • Name, email, account, or raw browser ID
  • Raw IP address, browser header, or referrer
  • A history of each download click
  • Whether the file finished or was installed
  • Anything from private app conversations

Desktop app

No usage analytics

0 analytics integrations

Murmur Sphere does not receive a stream of feature use, conversation activity, session length, model choices, errors, or other desktop behavior.

Stays on your computer

  • Conversations, prompts, and AI replies
  • Characters and Personas
  • Installed models and local activity
  • Recovery information and private file locations

Separate online actions

Update checks and any model, tool, picture, or installer download use the internet only for that action. They do not turn on desktop-app analytics.

If you deliberately send an email or open a support page, that separate service handles only the information needed for that action.

Outside services

Who receives information, and when

These are service connections, not extra Murmur Sphere metrics. Each happens because you opened a page or chose an online action; none gives the service access to your local conversations.

Cloudflare
Receives ordinary connection details when you visit, delivers the site, and provides the website analytics listed above. Its role is limited to the public website and related requests.
Stripe
Stripe is contacted after you choose Show payment details on Support; it receives the chosen amount and provides secure card fields inside the page. Murmur Sphere does not receive complete card details or add payment details to activity statistics.
Selected public provider
Receives a request only when the app performs a model, tool, picture, or installer download you chose. The provider depends on the item selected and processes the ordinary request needed to deliver it.
Email
Your provider and the Murmur Sphere inbox receive only a message you deliberately compose and send. The site has no contact form, and opening a contact page does not send anything.
