What’s new

Murmur Sphere 0.5.6

Released October 25, 2026 · Free alpha for Windows 10/11

Current version

What you can do

Create or import characters, add an optional Persona, choose a compatible local model, and keep private conversations on your computer.

  • Chat with characters using an AI model that runs through Ollama.
  • Keep conversations, characters, Personas, and saved app information local.
  • Use guided setup, model status, backups, recovery, and update notices.

In this release

New in 0.5.6

  • Generate a character from an idea with your loaded local model, then review and edit the writing before saving.
  • Export character definitions as V3 or V2 JSON, or as a portable PNG character card. Exported cards do not include your conversations.
  • Murmur Sphere recommended models now open as a collapsible guide with descriptions, including Stheno v3.2 MPOA and Magnum v4 22B. Choosing a model opens its repository results.
  • Slow CUDA prerequisite checks run in a visible, cancellable Training job. The final Training step gives a clearer handoff to the LoRA Library.
  • Older-data carryover notices have both a close control and Don’t remind me again, so the same notice can stay dismissed after reopening the app.

Known limitations

Still an early alpha

  • Windows may warn because the installer is not code-signed yet.
  • Ollama and a compatible model are installed separately.
  • Expect a few rough edges, and please tell me when you find one.
