The simple version
What local AI character chat means
Instead of sending each message to a hosted chat service, Murmur Sphere asks an AI model running through Ollama on your computer. The app stores your characters, Personas, conversations, and recovery information locally.
Visiting this website, downloading Murmur Sphere or a model, checking for updates, sending email, and choosing creator support are separate online actions. The desktop app does not silently switch to an online AI.

What to expect from an early alpha
- Murmur Sphere is free and does not require an account.
- Ollama and the model are installed separately and use your computer's storage and memory.
- Windows may warn because the current installer is not code-signed.
- AI output can be wrong, surprising, or inappropriate, so review it before relying on or sharing it.
